Sharp, Stinging Cervix!!!!!

Have any of you been feeling sharp stinging pains in your cervix? Lately at night it feels like the babies head is just grinding on my cervix and I actually have to get out of bed to move him from the spot but about 3 minutes after I lay back down he does it again...lol. It feels like he could break my water if I dont move!

Well I'm at 2cm!!! It could be any day now. My doctor says as soon as regular contractions starts or my water breaks it will be time to go! I'm so nervous......I just wish I knew for sure what day he was coming...LOL.
I'm glad to hear you and baby are growing!!! Are you going to start taking any belly shots??? :)

I had that stinging feeling in my private area for at least a week before my son was born. I had no clue that was my cervix opening. I learn something new everyday. Those weigh guesses on the ultrasound aren't always right. The day I had my son I had an ultrasound and they said he was 6 lbs. Only a few hours later he came out and was 4 lbs 13 oz.....

I guess the stinging is from the cervix being so soft and then being stretched from the babies head...lol. I never knew that either....I never had that with my first son....I just remember feeling bumps but never stings...lol. Wow 4lbs 13oz....what a little guy.....I wonder how off my u/s will be once hes delivered? My mom said that the day she went into labor with my younger brother they told her he was going to be about 8lbs and he ended up being almost 11....LOL. So was he ok being that tiny? I think I read as long as they are atleast 4lbs then there fine.

Ya he was healthy as could be. Just little. I had low amniotic fluid and uterine growth restriction. Which is why they said he wasn't growing right. He was even born at 36 weeks 6 days. I had an emergency c-section due to scary drops in his heart rate. I really think if they wouldn't have taken him I would have gone into labor at any moment. I had been having that sharp sting you were talking about and went in that morning and I was 80% effaced and 3- almost 4 dialated. ANd I had been having extreme diareah all day. I really think my body knew he was in danger and was progressing on its own. But anyways. He was very healthy. We went home in 24 hours. Since I had a c-section they wanted me to stay longer but I really just wanted to go home. Turns out cord was wrapped around his neck 3 times causing the heart rate drops.

Not that anything like that will happen to you. I just still like telling the story..... You'll see soon. You'll tell anyone who will listen all about the birth of you babies. I'm sure I'l do the same thing this time too. Just hoping it goes a little smoother.

Jen.....I cant believe it either...lol. I'm kinda glad things are preogressing.....the shows I watch sometimes, the women seem to be in so uch pain at 1 to 2cm and here I'am and I'm fine(so far...knock on wood)...lol.
I cant wait to start seeing your belly progession!!!!

Skye.....Your son must have been so dang cute being so tiny!! I love little babies! You really did have a scary situation! Dont worry I love telling the story of my first son to everyone too, I'm sure there getting sick of hearing about it...LOL. I've compared everything about this pregnancy to my first so I'm sure there tired of hearing about how it was when I was pregnant with Drake....LOL. I hope things are better for you this time around....me on the other hand I'm worried because things went so good with my first that automatically they wont with this baby...lol.

Its nice to have a baby belly....until it gets to big and heavy and it feels like the baby is going to fall right out of the front of your abdomen..LOL

(Those shows kinda scare me sometimes....they make me real nervouse to where I'm literally chewing my nails off while I'm watching...LOL)

Skye: That happened to me also.. I have a friend from High School that is an OBGYN. He came to see me in labor at the hospital and he scanned me then. My doctor had told me a 6 lb baby. My friend told me at least 8-10 lbs. DD was 10 lbs 4 oz and 2 1/2 weeks early.

OK...I had the sharp feelings last night. They feel like I'm being shocked or something from the inside...is this what you guys are talking about? They lasted for about 15-20 minutes. It felt like it was in my cervix, or the opening where the baby will be delivered. It was wierd, but not scary...just short sharp pains, like he's trying to stick his arm or foot through, lol!

I have more pressure and a sharper pain right in my right back hip/butt area. Strangely enough most say sciatic again. Not sure.

Otherwise, just pressure. Hope you all are well +

Thats a pretty name for her Jackie!!! I like it!!!

SBAILEY, yep thats what I have been feeling.....I had it again last night all night long. It really does feel like a sharp shock...LOL

Hi Heather.....it sounds like it is your sciatic....I used to get that all the time with my first son ad sometimes it would get so bad that my leg would give out on me while I was walking...lol.

Amanda, I've asked 3 friends today, and they all said it was normal to have that, and it would get more intense as the big day gets closer. I am not worried now, I will when it starts hurting. It wasn't painful, just wierd and uncomfortable. Heather, I'm pretty sure that is sciatica...I'm a massage therapist, and I had that happen once so far, it was this sharp pain that went from my butt down to my calve..I knew that had to be it, since I had read that could be a pregnancy symptom. Massage is good for sciatica, esp if it is going numb.

I know how you feel. This last month is driving me nuts! I've been taking a shower as soon as I get up and a bath before bed just incase I go into labor...LOL. When I had my son I slept until noon and as soon as I got up my water broke so I had no time to clean up and I felt so dirty until they finally let me shower the day after he was born...LOL

eeewww..well that might have to be my plan Amanda. I keep thinking, I hope I have time to bath before I go to the hospital, but I'll probably be freaking out, and won't care, lol!

Oh yeah you wont care about anything once things start...LOL. I even didnt care who was in the room when they wanted to check my cervix.....they asked me if I wanted everyone to leave and I just said.....I dont care just do what you need to do....LOL.

Amanda~ That is funny you say that about when they check your cervix. Its so true! I am so modest about that stuff when not is labor but in labor half the city could be in there and I don't think I would notice or care...lol
