Informed Consent For a Homebirth

I understand that one of the reasons for doing a home birth is that I don't want unnecessary medical intervention. There are fewer cesareans, epidurals, and episiotomies with homebirths.

On the other hand, as far as interventions go I understand that I can have the same in a hospital PLUS it's safer for my baby and me in case of an emergency.

At home, there is simply not enough personnel and equipment to take care of all potential emergencies, and according to ACOG and other organizations, 2-3 times more newborns die after a homebirth.
